Kholat is an adventure game kept horror conventions. Title developed Krakow branch of Polish development studio IMGN.pro. The plot of the game is based on a real event – the tragedy at Dyatlov Pass. In winter 1959 years of Russian group of nine climbers set off on an expedition in the northern part of the Ural mountains. The expedition did not end happily – her body was found on the slope of the participants Cholat Sjakl (mamansyjskiego language "Still Mountain"), near the abandoned camp – most died of hypothermia. Striking is the fact that the tent was cut from the inside, as if the climbers had to flee quickly from there in the middle of the night. I still do not know the real cause of the tragedy.

Kholat offers an open world which player is the first-person perspective. The game takes place at night, in the frozen forest, and the way to the end, to find yourself. This is with a map and compass, but by the lack of an active pause their use is risky, because diverts attention from what is currently happening on the screen. In no time the player does not take the fight, and the only solution is to escape from the threat.

The game uses authoring tool called "fear manager". Its function is to adjust the factors responsible for the atmosphere of terror to the player's actions. With this solution, each approach to the game is slightly different, and the player is constantly accompanied by a sense of danger and confusion.
